WELP, my latest huge project @___@ I was in the mood to draw pretty dresses, and to draw pretty boys, so that's how this came to be - w-

It was kinda just a doodle so I ran out of room and couldn't fit everyone on there. There were a lot of mistakes, so I didn't want to ink it traditionally. Plus, I left my light box in FL, and I REALLY didn't wanna erase all this pencil work - 3- Sooo I decided to ink it in Sai.

Added the two boys on the ends~ So now all of the are there! Because I don't really like to color digitally, and inking in Sai doesn't make coloring it any easier, I wanted to print it out and color it. But in order for it to fit on some printing paper it had to be smaller than the original picture. Even so, and even though the print preview showed it'd fit, it keeps getting cut off on the end. FFFFUUUU--So I'm still trying to figure something out, but I started coloring it anyway...

Almost done!! o wo I dunno what to do for the background though...maybe I'll just cut it out XD I seem to be doing that lately...

Trying to get as much done as soon as possible since I have a lot to do XD Anyway, project one is going to be an animatic of a scene from one of the comics I'm working on right now. Just as some background, my comic is called Magical Boys. It's a parody comic of magical girl comics and animes. Most my readers are young girls around the age of 15-18...so it's probably not that interesting to all the boys in my class < w < Sorry guys...Either way, here are the turn arounds for the heroes of the story.

This is Angel/Magical Boy Seraphim(shown). He's 12 years old and a little short for his age. As a regular boy he's cheerful, optomistic, and always ready to help but also a bit naive and oblivious to the things around him. He idolizes magical girls. As a Magical Boy he's devoted and very into the part...but slightly useless...;;

This is Noel/Magical Boy Celestine (shown). He's also 12 and Angel's best friend. He unfortunately got dragged into being a Magical Boy by Angel and isn't that thrilled about it. Noel is smart, level-headed and very mature for his age. As a Magical Boy he's unenthusiastic but somehow ends up being the more efficient one. He can also be a bit sarcastic...

This is Masao/Magical Boy Tenkei. He's 10 years old, making him the youngest and smallest Magical Boy. Masao is normally very shy, quiet and easily shaken, but as a Magical Boy he tends to be the scariest of them all.

Here are my designs for the first assignment. I'm not so good at this sort of thing, but I tried at least :/
Anyway, some initial designs:

Since I can't give anything away yet, I'll have to be pretty vague. I started with the most "realistic" design (proper age for animal, proper attire for time etc) then went a little more cartoony after that. There were several different outfits to choose from for the time period and country.
More designs:

Some more outfits and styles. The problem I was having was trying to get the character to look the age it was supposed to be. The problem was that an animal at a certain age looks way different than a human at a certain age. However most people can recognize the age of humans than animals, so I figured it'd be better to make it look the human age. I liked the one in the middle, but it still looked to old. The one on the left is closest to the right age, and I like the style of that one, but the outfit is more descriptive of the time period, and less descriptive of the country.
I decided to take the parts I liked from each design to come up with the final design.

I had found a picture of the animal sitting this way and thought it was the most descriptive of the animal and the age and even the gender~
Here is the final design:

I took the face from the last design (so it'd better convey the age), the outfit from the 3rd (since it was most descriptive of time period and country) and the look of the 5th one because I liked it the most~ Then I added more to the outfit and accessories to better portray the time period and country and gender.
All in all I still don't think she looks the right age, but it's more like an inbetween of the human and animal age. Other than that, I think it's pretty sucessful~
